SPECIAL POLICE UNIT FOR WOMAN AND CHILDREN REACHES OUT TO CHILDREN WITH PROJECT “GO TO SCHOOL INITIATIVE” DUE TO RISE IN INSTANCES OF CYBER CRIME

In view of the spurt in the number of instances of cyber crime in the city, Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC), Delhi Police decided to reach out to school children and spread awareness against cyber crime under the project “Go to School Initiative” – ‘Protecting children on the internet’. In collaboration with Deloitte  an audio-visual training material for school children was prepared. 10 teams of Delhi Police Officials were constituted each headed by a Sub-Inspector from North-East for this campaign.  These teams were trained by experts to enhance their oratory skills.  The campaign was designed to sensitise children about various Do’s & Don’ts to be observed while using the internet.

In a month long initiative since 02.11.2016 we have covered 290 schools of Delhi (Government and Private Schools) in which 183469 students (girls/boys) were sensitized through our Lectures as well as presentation in the schools.  This initiative is highly appreciated by school authorities as well as student.
