Shri S.D.Sharma has taken charge as the new Director, Business Development of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.
With his appointment, the number of full time directors in DMRC has increased to seven. Prior to his appointment, Sh. Sharma was working in DMRC as Executive Director, Civil.
In his capacity as Director, Business Development, Sh. Sharma will be in charge of the consultancy businesses of the corporation in India and as well as abroad. It will involve consultancy in the areas of Metro planning, interim consultancy, prime consultancy, general consultancy etc. He will also be in-charge of the property development activities of DMRC.
He joined the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on deputation in June, 2005 and since then worked in different capacities as Chief Engineer (Planning), Chief Vigilance Officer and Chief General Manager (Consultancy).
Sh. Sharma is a graduate from Meerut University with Civil Engineering (1980) and masters in Geo-technical Engineering (1982) from the University of Roorkee. He worked as a scientist in the Alternate Hydro Energy Centre (AHEC), Roorkee, for a brief period of two years and subsequently joined the Indian Railways in 1984.
Since then he worked in different areas of Railways namely Operation & Maintenance, Construction in the capacity of Assistant Engineer, Divisional & Senior Divisional Engineer and Senior Project Manager. He also worked in Research Design and Standard Organization as Director (Research) and subsequently in the capacity of Chief Engineer (Track Machines).
