NSPCL Rourkela receives CII (Odisha) Award for
‘Best Practices in Safety, Health & Environment’
NTPC-SAIL Power Company Pvt Limited (NSPCL), Rourkela has won First prize in CII (Odisha) Award for ‘Best Practices in Safety, Health & Environment’. The Award was received by CEO, NSPCL, Shri Vishwaroop and GM & Business Unit Head of NSPCL Rourkela unit, Shri Debasis Sarkar from Chief Minister, Shri Naveen Patnaik during the 17th ‘Enterprise Odisha’, the largest Trade Fair of the state, jointly organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Eastern Region and Govt of Odisha.
Award is to acknowledge the vision and exemplary commitment the CEO of an organisation and his team has for Environmental Responsibility, concern for Occupational Health and Safety of employees and society as a whole.
The objective of this Award is to evaluate an organization’s interest towards the well being of its employees through adequate measures, not only for the Regulatory requirements, but also as a part of the Management’s Commitment towards ensuring that the workforce is adequately protected through effective Safety, Health & Environment measures.
NSPCL is a 50:50 Joint Venture between NTPC Ltd and SAIL. At Rourkela it owns and operates the 2×60 MW power plant and supplies the bulk of power to Rourkela Steel Plant.
