NARMADA SEVA YATRA MOST IMPORTANT FOR OUR EXISTENCE

Governor Haryana Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki said that Narmada Seva Yatra initiated by the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh is most important for our existence. He was addressing the Jan-Sanvad programme held at Jabalpur city on Sunday. People should come forward to join this campaign to transform it into a large public movement, he added.
Governor Prof. Solanki mentioned that it is a duty of every government to ensure all round development of its area. Honest and effective efforts of the government which is committed and dedicated for the people’s service has changed the scenario of the state during the last few years. The state which was once known as a backward state has leaped ahead in the development and has astonished all after watching all round development of Madhya Pradesh today. Prof. Solanki further mentioned that Narmada seva yatra started by the state government has not only impressed state and the country but the entire world.
Moreover, Prof. Solanki said that human beings existence is dependent on water, forest, land, animals and climate. In this context, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan took an important initiative for protection of human beings’ existence giving a thought to the future through Narmada seva yatra. He expressed the faith that this people’ movement will prove to be a very effective campaign to generate awareness among the people.
Shri V.D. Sharma said that Narmada seva yatra is the biggest river conservation campaign of the world. The campaign has taken a form of public movement due to strong efforts of the government and sant community today. People of the all the sections of the society and religions of all areas are contributing in this campaign. Shri Sharma further said that the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has decided to plant 5 crore saplings on both the banks of River Narmada on July 2 with an objective to make Narmada’s flow incessant. He also mentioned about the initiative taken to ban liquor in 5 k.m. radius of Narmada river, to continue efforts for conservation of Narmada after the campaign and Narmada Seva committees being formed in this regard.
Earlier to this, the Governor was welcomed flowering showers at Sindhi Dharmshala. Prof. Solanki performed pooja of Narmada’s kalash and flag beside kanya poojan.
At the end, Governor Prof. Solanki administered pledge to the people for Narmada conservation, plantation, cleanliness, water conservation, pollution prevention, organic farming and to undertake useful plantation for agro forestry and fruit bearing and umbrageous plants. He also urged the people to make every possible effort to maintain pureness of Maa Narmada intact and to encourage others in this direction.
Minister for Forest, Planning, Economic and Statistics and Minister in charge of the district Dr. Gourishankar Shejwar, Minister for Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Shri Gourishankar Bisen, Minister for Public Health and Family Welfare Shri Rustam Singh, Minister of State for Medical Education (Independent charge) shri Sharad Jain and Former Minister Shri Ajay Vishnoi beside Mahamandaleshwar Akhileshwaranand Ji Maharaj, State Coordinator of Yatra Dr. Jitendra Jamdar and Vice President Jan Abhiyan Parishad Shri Pradeep Pandey were present on the occasion.
