LINK YOUR AADHAAR TO PAN ,DON’T KNOW HOW THEN THIS ARTICLE WILL HELP YOU
The government has already extended the deadline twice, from July 31 to August 5, and then later to August 31, due to difficulties faced by taxpayers while filing their income tax returns.
The deadline for linking your Aadhaar number with your PAN card is just a couple of days away and it is time to do it as soon as possible. The Aadhaar-PAN linking is aimed at tax evaders who hold multiple PANcards to escape tax paying.
After the demonization move by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi to curb black money, the government made it mandatory for all the citizens in India to link Aadhaar card number and Permanent Account Number (PAN). If one fails to linkAadhaar with PAN by the final deadline, he/she may not be able to get his/her tax returns processed by the tax department, and will also not be able to avail the benefits of many social schemes.
The Supreme Court verdict on privacy as a fundamental right has triggered talk that it may have an implication on Aadhaar, and any adverse impact could affect the move to link PAN and Aadhaar.
Visit http://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in. If you have a pop up blocker active, you will have to go on the “Profile Setting” on the dashboard’s menu bar to click on “Link Aadhar” option. By linking the two cards you will no longer have to submit your Income Tax acknowledgement to the IT department. Therefore, any mismatch in your names given in Aadhaar and PAN cards may be a cause of concern for you.
You will also receive a SMS or an email from the Income Tax Department notifying the same. Next thing to do is, to enter your 12 digit Aadhaar card number, then verify captcha and then click on “Link Aadhaar” button. However, if other details, such as date of birth or sex, do not match, you will have to head to the National Securities Depository Ltd. website (for PAN), or UIDAI portal (for Aadhaar) to change details so that they match.
