Government is taking steps to strengthen the cooperative movement in the capital

Delhi Minister for Registrar of Cooperative Societies Shri Rajendra Pal Gautam honoured different cooperative societies and eminent persons for their exemplary work and efficiency for the betterment of the people at large. On this occasion, Shri Rajendra Pal Gautam honoured 14 members and 10 different societies including Shri R K Kain, President Jatav Cooperative Thrift & Credit Society, a member from reserved category, for their outstanding role in the field. These awardees were selected on the basis of the criteria for which names were invited through advertisements published in newspapers. The co-operative week, celebrated throughout the country every year to organise meetings, seminar and conferences to highlight their achievements in Delhi.

While addressing the gathering he said the government is trying level best to strengthen the cooperative movement in the capital as any society can only develop with mutual cooperation and understanding only. The government fully committed to refurbish the department in new scenario and will ensure that in terms of strength, members and revenue there is growth in the sector of Cooperative Societies.The Minister for Registrar of Cooperative Societies appreciated the work of urban cooperative thrift & credit societies, urban cooperative banks and housing societies which are giving services to about 10 lakh families. He appealed the cooperative members to   avoid disputes among themselves to follow the provisions of cooperatives acts, rules and by-laws. He assured that the Government will extend assistance to the cooperative institutions in promoting their business and also instructed the department for speedy disposal of co-society cases in the capital.

The Delhi State Cooperative Union Ltd and Cooperative Education Fund Committee have jointly organized the program at Hindi Bhawan near ITO.
