DELHI POLICE CLAIMS ALLEGATIONS IN THE NEWS CLIPPING OF MAIL TODAY WRONG REGARDING LAND DE-FORESTATION

New Delhi: According to Delhi Police in the news clipping of Mail Today, it is alleged that Delhi Police has butchered greenery and did de-forestation in their land. It is reported that allegations in the news clippings are false, baseless and beyond the truth.  This land was agricultural land and water body and it was never a forest land as alleged.

In the year of 2001 Govt. Of India, Ministry of Urban Development, Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi 110011, vide letter No. K-13011/6/98-DD dated 16.01.2001 had changed land use of 28.03 Hectare (70 Acre) out of 333 acres from ‘Agricultural and Water Body’ to ‘Public and Semi Public Facilities’(Police Firing Range). This letter clearly indicate that Govt. Of India was well aware that this land was not a forest area, it was agricultural and water body.

Development of 70 Acre land from ‘Agricultural and Water Body’ to Training Institute was started as soon as land use change letter received under the supervision of the 4th Bn. And later on by PTC.  Under this development process more than 1000 saplings were planted which are grownup today into big trees.  Police Department never did de-forestation, contrary to allegations Department had grown the trees and is still in process of planting the saplings.

The land measuring 263.09 Acre is still Agricultural and Water Body’ with wild grass except the area where CPMF are stationed rendering vital service to Nation since 2012 and CPMF personnel are also planting saplings.

Long Firing Range was not made due to coming up of unauthorised colonies such as – Sriram Colony, Sonia Vihar, Extension of Tukmir Pur, Sabha Pur, Dayal Pur, Bihari Pur etc. so Short Firing Range (SFR) was made by competent authority PWD  at a small portion of 263.09 Acre.  This shows that there was no forest area but only agricultural land and water bodies with wild grass.

From the above points and documents it is crystal clear that land in our possession was never a forest area as it was ‘Agricultural and Water Bodies’ land which is also in the knowledge of Govt. of India (Ministry of Urban Development).  We have even developed and planted more than 1000 trees in this area which was and is ‘Agricultural and Water Body’.  Allegations in news clipping are false, baseless, beyond the truth and a mischievous deed by a person who is not having any knowledge about the history of that land.
