DDA POSTPONES DRAW FOR LATEST HOUSING SCHEME INDEFINITELY
New Delhi: As per reports on Sunday, the draw for the DDA housing scheme, which had been fixed for November 17, has been postponed again and this time indefinitely.
The draw was scheduled to be held at DDA headquarters, Vikas Sadan.
It is being said that the DDA was having problems dealing with the humongous number of application forms and are now looking at ways to carry out the draw in a more efficient manner.
The mock draws by the DDA, reportedly, was not able to finish the whole process in less than six hours.
The first dry run was held by the housing authority on November 10.
More than ten lakh people have applied for the housing scheme.
Initially the tentative date for the draw of lots was scheduled for November 10 and then later postponed to November 12 and 17.
For the first time the DDA will be ‘webcasting live’ the entire draw on the Internet with a dedicated URL (www.ddadrawlive.in) for the same.
“We have created a dedicated website (www.ddadrawlive.in) for the draw, and instead of directly webcasting through a YouTube channel, we later decided to create a separate window for the event altogether, where online user can see the proceedings live,” DDA’s Director (Systems) VS Tomar had said, as per PTI.
