EMMA STONE TOPS HOLLYWOOD TOP PAID ACTRESS LIST OF FORBES
Emma Stone has bested Jennifer Lawrence — at least in the matter of how much money she made between June 2016 and June 2017.
Forbes’ list of highest-paid actresses announced Wednesday put the Oscar-winning “La La Land” star, with $26 million, at the top, surpassing the “Hunger Games” powerhouse, who was first in 2016 and 2015.
According to Page Six, Stone revealed that some of her male co-stars have taken salary cuts so she could receive equal pay in an Out magazine story in which she said, “That’s something they do for me because they feel it’s what’s right and fair,” noting that public discussion hasn’t addressed the fact that women getting equal pay is going to require men to selflessly say that’s what’s fair.
Jennifer Aniston, who does her share of endorsements, was runner-up with $25.5 million, and Lawrence came in third with $24 million.
Here’s the rest of the top 10: Melissa McCarthy ($18 million); Mila Kunis ($15.5 million); Emma Watson ($14 million); Charlize Theron (14 million); Cate Blanchett ($12 million); Julia Roberts ($12 million); and Amy Adams ($11.5 million).
Sadly, not surprisingly, last year, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson topped Forbes’ list of highest-paid actors at $64.5 million, more than double what Stone made this year. Forbes is expected to announce its new crop of top-earning male actors later this week.
