Initiatives in Green Police Station of Maurice Nagar

New Delhi:

Natural cooling – By coating slaked Lime at roof. Also using earthen pots with water sprinkler system to keep the roof and overall temperature of police station cool.
LED lights – In order to decrease consumption of electricity all light fittings have been changed to LED lights and 5 Star rating fans. Also Solar panel for lighting the PS is being envisaged.

Bio toilet – Almost waterless toilet with septic tank which will convert faecal matter into water by anaerobic bacterial decomposition.
Bamboo furniture – Instead of wooden furniture here SHOs room will be having bamboo and cane furniture which is more environment friendly as it does not require cutting of trees.
Eric-Palm plantation – 400 Eric Palm plants were planted in Police Station and its surroundings. This plant is having maximum carbon consumption capacity.

Recycled paper – Promoting use of recycled paper. Recycled paper is being made available for complainants.
Environment Graffiti – Selected paintings on environment were put on Police station walls in form of Graffiti by selected girl students of Delhi  University.
